Having recently visited Maison Hovington, I found the experience to be a delightful blend of charm and comfort. The accommodation was clean and cozy, with a touch of homely nostalgia that felt rather comforting, reminiscent of a visit to your grandma's place. The view from our room overlooking the St Lawrence was simply breathtaking, adding a serene touch to the stay.Although the bed was a tad small for my Dutch partner, the bathroom was a standout feature with its luxurious bath and quality toiletries. The breakfast, served in a charming shared living room, was a diverse spread with plenty of gluten-free options. While the absence of a shower might not suit everyone, the tranquil ambiance and the warm hospitality of the staff make up for it. The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, with easy access to outdoor activities like hiking and cycling.In terms of luxury, the cozy room and lovely porch offered a peaceful retreat, but some may find the lack of certain amenities like a shower and spacious beds a bit limiting in terms of a lavish stay. However, for those seeking a tranquil escape with a hint of familiarity, Maison Hovington offers a solid value proposition amidst the charming setting of the Canadian wilderness.
